CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL 2022 AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE WINNERS

Last Thursday, June 9th Metro members gathered at Hanover Manor to celebrate Metro's 38th Annual Awards of Excellence - our most anticipated event of the year! This event was started back in 1985 by Mr. Robert Shaw when he was the President of the then Builders Association of Somerset and Morris County. He wanted a way to recognize the efforts and achievements of the members in the Association and it is an annual tradition we continue on today. In fact, we like to refer to it as the "oscars of the building industry" here in the office and on the AOE Committee.

The night lead by the strong and stunning AOE Co-chairs, Tammy Murray of Andersen Windows and Doors and Kristie Veri of Cleanscape Construction - made sure to keep the fun going all night long. From choosing to have an open bar this year (thanks Blue Ridge Lumber - the amazing Cocktail Sponsor) to putting up a photo booth (hello Hammer Sponsors!) to having mini prizes via raffle (ticket winners announced by Jonni Caluse of DACOR our Sapphire Sponsor) to envelope reveals - oscar style. They even pumped up the Winner's "walk up" music. Metro President, Frank R. Coppola III started the ceremony with an inspirational speech and of course we cannot forget, Celeara Murray, gracing us with her voice again as she sang the National Anthem - it is always a pleasure to hear her sing. Vern Tatum of Caroline Blue Painting said it best, "don't be good at something if you don't want to be asked to do it again."

The same could be said of all the talent we had in the room on Thursday. There was an energy floating around - an excitement - a buzz - I'm sure everyone could feel it. You just knew you wanted to be in that room and by the end of the night you knew who you had to meet if you hadn't already. This year the competition was fierce and the judges had some really tough calls to make but it made for a great show.

This night could not have happened without Tammy and Kristie spearheading the AOE Committe for the seven months. The AOE Committee consisted of Chris Camy - Woodmont Properties, Ronnie Glomb - Your Town Realty, Carolin Gosselin and Nicole Prato - The Experience NJ Team of EXP Realty, Franz Laki - SESI Consulting Engineers and Andrea LoMonaco - Wells Fargo Home Mortgage along with the Metro Executive Officer, Michele Leppard and Officer Manager - Kimberly Nordstrom. Metro cannot thank our sponsors enough for all their help - because of you we were able to make changes here and there that make all the difference.
