|
Join Metro & PWB TOMORROW - April 21st for the HOME SHOW
The Home Show has finally arrived - it is officially happening tomorrow at the Hanover Manor between 3:00 and 7:00 PM.
Our Professional Women in Building Council has been working over the last couple of months to bring back the Metro Home Show to everyone. This is a wonderful opportunity to bring your friends, family, colleagues, neighbors, etc. out to a Metro event with you. Does your wife always want to go shopping for the house? Well, here is your opportunity gentleman to make a suggestion to her and make a fun day-date out of it at the Home Show. Who says romance is dead - certainly not us! If you know someone who is trying to redecorate but doesn't know where to start - Home Show! If you know someone who is building a house, office building, school, etc. - Home Show! If you honestly just want to get in your steps for the day - the Home Show will be a great place to do that. There will be raffles and giveaways throughout the event.
We are currently still running the PWB Special - if you buy one $5 ticket you can sign up 5 friends for FREE to bring with you. (Buy 1 Ticket and Bring 5 Friends for FREE) Ends at Midnight tonight.
Otherwise Tickets are $5 each to attend.

NAHB is increasingly concerned that the housing market is reaching an inflection point that threatens to derail the current housing and economic expansion. To send a strong message to the White House, all NAHB members are invited to sign a letter urging the Administration to keep housing at the forefront of our nation and address critical housing affordability issues. Visit nahb.org/letter to read and sign the letter. Share the link with other members to help NAHB demonstrate the strength of the Federation.

2022 Scholarship Funds
will be offered by the
Metropolitan Builders & Contractors Association of NJ
The charitable arm of the Metropolitan Builders & Contractors Association of NJ is offering two educational and technical training scholarships. These funds are available to Morris, Essex, Union, Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren residents intending to pursue a career associated with the home building/remodeling industry. The 2022 awards are funded through the generosity of New Jersey Builders Association and Metropolitan Builders & Contractors Association of NJ members and other interested parties. The Association is responding to the industry’s dire need for skilled craftsman and craftswomen. A total of two scholarships of $1,250 each will be awarded.
In all cases, candidates must be full-time or part-time students who will attend accredited institutions with the intent of pursuing a building/construction-related degree or certification. Construction related is defined as general construction (i.e., carpenter, plumber, electrician, or any other trade related to the building/remodeling industry) or degree programs including, but not limited to: Drafting and Design, Construction Technology, Mechanical Contracting, HVAC Technology, Real Estate and Marketing, Electrical Engineering, Architectural Design, Surveying, Civil Engineering, Environmental Technology, Land Use Management, Construction and Business Management, and Landscape Architecture.
Scholarships will be awarded in the form of tuition paid directly to the institution. The selection process, conducted by the Scholarship Fund Committee, will be based on the following criteria: (1) the student’s desire to enter the building/remodeling industry as a career, (2) the student’s academic ability/potential and (3) the student’s financial need.
To be considered for all scholarships, students will need to complete the application from Metropolitan Builders & Contractors Association of New Jersey. The deadline for all completed applications is extended to May 20, 2022. You may mail the application to the Metro office address or email it to memberservices@metrobca.org
