Legislative Activity  Establishes certain State funding preferences for municipalities that enhance opportunities to develop housing. Passed in the Assembly 55-19-0. NJBA Supports A3877 (Coughlin)  Permits 30-calendar day extension to cure period for certain businesses to address and resolve certain violations. Passed in the Assembly 73-0-0. NJBA Supports A795 (Bailey)  Establishes standards for determining an unconscionable rent increase; excludes from public access landlord tenant records in certain circumstances. Passed in the Assembly 59-11-2. NJBA Opposes A3507 (Lopez)  Authorizes establishment of regional economic development partnerships. Passed in the Assembly 73-0-0. NJBA Supports A3571 (Greenwald)  Establishes minimum qualifications for persons employed on public works contract. Passed in the Assembly 60-9-4. NJBA Opposes A4072 (Reynolds-Jackson)  Establishes minimum qualifications for persons employed on public works contract. Micro Markets Lone Bright Spot for Single Family Home Building in Fourth Quarter  In a sign of ongoing affordability challenges and a tepid housing market, single-family construction fell across all geographic regions in the second half of 2025, with the exception of low-density, low-populated micro counties. Conversely, multifamily construction posted gains across all geographic regions. |
